Three Panels
Stock No 2332
Three English Oak carved panels, circa 1490. Probably from a Coffer from a significant family’s property, they depict powerful symbols of the day. The central Panel has the crowned Fleur-de-Lys badge of Edward 111, with leaf and bud spandrels at the top and the bottom. The other two have the Tudor badge incorporating the red Rose of Lancaster on one, and the white Rose of York on the other, below which is the portcullis emblem of the Beaufort family. All of the panels have a well carved rope twist surround. There have been minor conservation repairs to stabilise them.
