English Oak pierced panel, circa 1690, depicting a pair of Dolphins intertwined in a dramatic pose. They are inset in a single piece of wood to give a framed effect. The carving is most bold, but it is tempered by a very subtle punched scale effect on the Dolphins’ bodies
