Pair of Side Chairs
Stock No 1101
Pair of high quality side chairs, probably Cheshire, circa 1680. They are plain, and of excellent colour and patination. This makes them rare examples, as many of this style of chairs were decorated with later carving in the Victorian era. They have cut out cresting rails between pyramid finials, and are initialled “RH”. The front stretchers have Barley Twist and cotton reel turnings. One has an inch wide replacement strip to the moulding at the front of its seat.
