Desk Box

English Oak carved Desk Box of good colour, circa 1630. Its deeply incised carving has concave lunettes running from the left hand side and across the front. The upper half of both sides also have foliated “S” scrolls. Interestingly the lower half of the right hand side has been left uncarved, presumably with the intention to fit a supplementary compartment which in the event was never fitted. The top is fixed with its original Butterfly hinges. Inside is a shelf and spaces for two drawers, now lost.
